Budgie
produced the original 236 casting from 1960-66 and 1969-84 (under the
"H.
Seener Ltd" name).
In 1984, the same casting was used to produce the 704, 705, and 706 models.
The Budgie models are more toy-like, but nonetheless have a certain charm.
Seener continued to produce RM models after 1985 with a new casting under
the "Seerol" name. |

If
you are interested in the various Budgie models, required reading is "Budgie
Models" by Robert Newson. It's an excellent book with lots of photos.
I was fortunate to purchase mine directly from Rob, who offers copies
for sale - contact him via email for more details. |
The
rarest Budgie RM exists with "Sheraton-Heathrow Hotel" on the
sides and "Opening 1st February 1973" on the roof, in a special
box.![]() Photo reproduced from "Budgie Models" with permission of the author. |
